​Graduation






The Escuela de Parteras Profesionales del Estado de Guerrero (State of Guerrero's School of Professional Midwives: the first public midwifery school in Mexico) graduated its first class on Nov. 27, 2015.  Congratulations to the young women who worked so dilegently for four years to earn this great honor and to the dedicated midwives and teachers who made it possible.



Asociación Mexicana de Partería 

There will be a regional meeting April 22-23 in Pátzcuaro, Michoacán. Title "Redes - Encuentro Interdisciplinario por la Partería" (Networking - Interdisciplinary Gathering for Midwifery).


The next annual meeting of the Asociación will be held November 11, 12, and 13th, 2016 in Mexico City. The theme of the conference will be:  "CONECTATE -  PARTERÌA EN MOVIMIENTO HACIA LA TRANSFORMACIÓN EMPODERADA (Making Connections - Empowering Midwifery)​.


​The Asociación Mexicana de Partería is working to establish standards for necessary competencies of midwives in Mexico. They want these standards to be inclusive, which is to say they should validate traditional midwives, those who have received: formal training, and those who have been trained through apprenticeship.
